The Father’s Heart tells five true stories of shattered lives transformed by God’s love. Experience the love that changes everything.

Dave Carroll is a missionary, speaker, author - and the father to Josh Carroll. He has served faithfully in Uganda with his wife Jen and four children for 28 years. He is a teacher and author best known for his book, The Father’s Heart: His Delight, Your Destiny. Dave continues to work in discipleship ministry while also developing powerful resources to be used in ministry in Uganda.
A note from Dave:
“In our 28 years of ministry in Uganda, we have walked closely with many young people: teaching, mentoring, counseling, opening our home, and sharing our lives. Time and time again, we have watched in awe as the love of God invades broken lives and turns them into something beautiful – bringing life, healing, and freedom. When people really understand and embrace the Father’s love, He takes the most hopeless of people and fills them with hope. He takes lives that were shattered and makes them whole. He takes the worst of people and turns them into the best of people. He takes those whom society had thrown away as useless, and He makes them His most faithful sons and daughters. I am so grateful to be working on this project with my son, and I am so eager to see how the Lord will use The Father’s Heart to multiply His transforming work."
Josh Carroll is a director passionate about using cinema to tell stories close to God’s heart. From a young age, Josh has loved two things - Jesus and creating things with his hands. He made his first Bible film at the age of 10 with a desire to use what he had in his hands (some plastic bricks and an iPod nano) to point people to Jesus. What started as a childhood hobby soon developed into a deep calling. Josh signed his first global film distribution deal at the age of 16 and since has created films that have been viewed by over 20M people worldwide and translated into numerous languages, best known for his work on the animated series, The Bible: A Brickfilm. The Father’s Heart is Josh’s first live action film, and the first film in a larger vision Josh has to use cinema to encourage and equip the global church with a particular focus on telling untold African stories.
A note from Josh:
Directing The Father’s Heart has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. These stories are deeply personal - I grew up in them and I am so excited for audiences to see God's love so richly displayed on the big screen. God is the Master Storyteller. I’m just trying to keep up, camera in hand, capturing what He’s already doing.
Eric Swithin is a combat veteran who served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He received his BA in Economics from Rice University, and his Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. Eric is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Apologetics, Discipleship and Spiritual Formation at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Eric is called to serve ministry leaders by helping them abide more deeply and live more radically. Eric specializes in spiritual disciplines, leadership, preaching, ministry strategy, discipleship strategy, discipleship curriculum. Together, Eric and his wife founded Abba Heart Ministries in 2014. Abba Heart Ministries started as Outdoor Adventures, a fatherless ministry, then grew into a national alliance known as The Alliance for Ending the Fatherless Epidemic. In recent years, God has grown their ministry to include evangelism and making faith-based films, such as The Fatherless Epidemic and Show Me Your Glory!
A note from Eric:
“My name is Eric Swithin, and I have loved film for as long as I can remember. God made us in His image, and He is the ultimate Creator, so by default, we are His little creators—like Father like son. I never imagined that I would end up being involved in film-making, probably because I thought too little of myself and my talents. Looking back now, I realize that I’ve always loved telling stories. Film is an outlet for me to put the love of God on display and to communicate the messages of God in a uniquely powerful way! I have ZERO ambition for notoriety! I long for people to come to know the heart of Abba, our perfect Father!

Kappa Impact is here to bridge the gap so that stories with eternal impact can be completed and shared. Every finished project is a testament to what’s possible when faith and funding come together.
